An
experienced racing driver Tomáš Pekař is about to add new machinery into his
portfolio. The Czech racer will be taking part in the ESET V4 Cup weekend at
Red Bull Ring, where he is joining the TCR grid with Renault Megane TCR.
Tomáš Pekař joins the Besagroup Vukovic Motorsport team which plans to enter
two cars, the other Megane will be driven by Franjo Kovac. That means two more
drivers in the TCR Eastern Europe by ESET, which runs the highly popular TCR
specification cars.
Tomáš, let‘s start with your plans for this season. It looks like a busy one
for you.
Once again, I’ll be doing the whole Clio Cup Central Europe series with Renault
Clio. Then, I’m also going to try the competition in the TCR category, where we
will be racing with Renault Megane. The ESET TCR series runs under the official
banner of TCR, which is an interesting opportunity for us. We will enter the
series with two cars, one for me and one for Franjo Kovac.
Your Renault Megane debut will be at Red Bull Ring, which you know very
well. What are your ambitions?
We expect great competition. I’ve heard that there will be really lots of fast
drivers, with top cars and professional teams. Our target is to finish on the podium.
There’s no need to hide our podium ambitions as I’ve been working on the car
since the first development.
