The 2nd round of TCR Malaysia with Brutal Fish and Gruber

The TCR Malaysia winter series returns for its 2nd round of the season this weekend. And once again, there will be two names from the ESET V4 series – Brutal Fish team and Nico Gruber.

Fans of the ESET V4 series have another opportunity to make their waiting for the new season more bearable. Malaysia’s most famous racetrack in Sepang hosts the 2nd round of the local TCR championship and it will feature also two well-known names from last year’s ESET V4 season as Nico Gruber and the Brutal Fish team return.

Both ESET V4 representatives are going to enter their 2nd race weekend out of the 3-part winter series. And they are in very promising positions. Daniel Lloyd, who is racing in the Slovak team Brutal Fish, finished in the 2nd place in both races of the opening round of the season and he currently leads the championship with 40 points.

Gruber is doing well too. Last year’s 2nd best driver in the Formula Renault 2.0 category had a very successful Touring Cars debut in January. While the Austrian driver, who is racing for Hyundai Team Engstler, did not finish his 1st race, he managed to win the 2nd one and he is now holding the 4th place in the standings with 25 points.

However, both drivers will face one more competitor this time and it won’t be an easy driver to beat. The last year’s TCR Europe champion Josh Files is joining the series. The British driver will drive a Hyundai i30 N TCR of Solite Indigo Racing.

The whole race weekend starts on Friday with free practice sessions and qualifying. Both races are planned for Saturday.
