Gregor Zsigo is a regular driver of the ESET Cup. With his Racing Trevor team, he participate at all championship races and he is always one of the favourites to podium finish with his BMW M6 GT3.. This year, he even plans to enrich the team’s fleet with newer BMW GT3.
The new BMW M4 GT3 should appear in the garage of the Racing Trevor team before the start of the season. However, Zsigo has not yet revealed the program: “I would not like to publish plans until we have the car physically in the garage. They promised it to us in March, but covid times are difficult, so I would rather wait a while with a plans, until the car will be with us, ” explained Zsigo.
However Zsigo is already decided who will race the BMW M6 GT3. “I will drive the M6 in sprints and in the endurance races, I will team up with Dennis Waszek,” Zsigo revealed the line-up, which has been successful since last year’s Slovakia Ring race in Spring. They went there together for the first time and continued their cooperation until the final event in Brno, where Zsigo has won a title in endurance and took second place in sprint championship.
Again Racing Trevor will enjoy the support of BMW Motorsport, which brings the team a number of benefits. “Their support helps us improve our work. In addition, we have spare parts from them, so everything works a little faster than if we order the parts ourselves, “said Zsigo, who is looking forward to the return of the Red Bull Ring to the Eset Cup calendar. “I am glad for that. After the problems with the covid-19, I am very much looking forward to the Austrian track. It´s fast and it fits me. However, I also like Slovakia Ring, Hungaroring and so on. In fact, I like all the circuits in the calendar, but I’m excited about the return of the Red Bull Ring anyway. ”
When asked what motivates him the most in motorsport today, he replied: “I am motivated by young racers who are the next generation. That is why we are also preparing the junior Racing Trevor program in ACCR Formula 4, where we want to support Zéna Kovács. Formula 4 is an ideal tool for young go-kart riders and I’m curious about Zéna. He has potential, so we’ll see. “
