ACCR F4 starts as a certified FIA Formula 4 racing series in 2023!

In 2023, the ACCR Formula 4, the brand new F4 series for Central and Eastern Europe, will take off! After the series premiere had to be postponed due to the massive delivery problem of car manufacturer Tatuus, serial promoter Josef Krenek has been able to work a lot behind the scenes in the meantime. We have drawn the most important news for him.

Mr. Krenek, will the ACCR F4 be able to start in 2023?
Yes, the ACCR F4 will start in 2023! We are currently living in difficult times and there are still problems with the delivery times of the next generation cars. Regardless, we have decided to kick off the series. An F4 series in our region is very important to enable young talents the switch from karting to the Formula racing.

Is the series certified by the FIA like the German or Italian Formula 4?
The ACCR F4 is certified by the FIA like the other major F4 series. It is certainly the right way to go for the future. Unfortunately, we can no longer let older models start and thus will lose some participants. But we hope, we will welcome numerous new teams and drivers on the 2023 grid instead.

Is the ACCR F4 an independent series and will it be starting in a support race program?
The ACCR F4 will run as an independent series, on the same weekends as the TCR Eastern Europe. The series is embedded in the ESET Cup environment.

How many cars can teams enter? One, two or three?
Currently, there is no restriction. However, for the future, we cannot rule out that a limitation will be in place.

What’s the driver’s age limit and what license do you need to start in the ACCR F4?
The driver must have a valid FIA license and a minimum age of 15 years.

Can you indicate, what approximate season budget will be needed by a driver?
Our most important task is to keep the costs low. Ideally, we will be somewhere between EUR 75,000-100,000. However, this always depends on how much money the teams will have to spend for testing, for simulator training, etc. To further help our drivers’ development, we have scheduled 75 minutes of free practice on race weekend Fridays, which are included in the entry fee.

What title will the championship winner receive?
There will be four categories in total – the ACCR F4 Champion, the junior champion for drivers up to the age of 21, the Women’s Trophy, and of course the Team Trophy.
