Nothing can make you happier then beating the championship leader twice in the row. That´s what Szabolcs Lantos managed in the penultimate round of Clio Cup in 2022 at Slovakiaring. Lantos from Hungary had its up´s and downs during his debut season in touring car, but in Slovakia, he absolutely shone. Long and sweeping track suited him very well, which he proved in qualifying. He set the fastest lap and started from the first place in Clio IV category.
Lantos´s most serious opponent was championship leader Tobias Poschik. And he tried very hard to pass for the lead. But Lantos drove superbly and defensively. Even when he lost the lead for a couple of moments, he didn´t give up and fought back to the front. And we are not talking just about one race, but both of the sprints during the Slovakia weekend! That´s how great form and speed Lantos had. Thanks to that, he kept his championship chances alive until the last round at Brno.
