TCR might have its dominator, but it’s far from over yet

The first half of ESET MMSR championship is almost over. After two events at Hungaroring and Red Bull Ring, there are only three more racing weekends ahead at Grobnik, Slovakia Ring and Brno. And that means it is a perfect time for a quick summary.

Milovan Vesnić with his SEAT Cupra currently leads the ESET TCR class after three wins and one-second place in four races. A very experienced Serbian driver, who is racing for ASK Vesnić team, has 75 points in total and 29 points lead over Václav Nimč jr.

„Yes, the season is going in a right way. I’m really happy that more and more drivers take part in TCR class and make this championship more competitive. That’s why we as the team are very pleased with my and Jakub Wyszomirski’s performance. Jakub is getting faster and faster and I have a lot experience with TCR cars and I hope that everything will finish as it started,“ said Milovan Vesnić after the first two races.

Jakub Wyszomirski is currently third in the standings ahead of fourth Bálint Hatvani and Jasmin Preisig on the fifth position. There are very small gaps between Nimč, Wyszomirski, Hatvani a Preisig and it will be very interesting to follow their battles.

While it may seem that Vesnić is not under pressure, it is exactly the opposite. For him, the season is still wide open, and he has to stay focused on his goals.

“As a team, it would be ideal if we could finish first and second in the standings. And I also hope that

Rudi Pesović will be back soon, so we can have the SEAT, Audi and Honda all under the same tent. After racing both SEAT and Audi, I have to say that both cars are very different in a setup and in a driving style. While both share the same basic platform, the SEAT seems to be more universal for both, fast and slow circuits,” said Milovan Vesnić.

„I hope that more drivers are going to see the benefits of ESET TCR and CEZ racing because this championship has a great future,“ he added.
