Richard Chlad won last race of the season

The race was relatively calm for Richard Chlad Jr. He started from the pole position and finished with unrivalled second victory in ESET Sprint GT3 at the Brno Circuit. Duels for ranks were only seen behind him.

Richard Chlad Jr. had the most advantageous starting position among GT3 cars. Behind him there was the triad of the cup Lamborghini Huracans driven by Josef Záruba, Samuel Sládečka and Dennis Waszek, paired in the starting grid by Stanislaw Jedlinski in Audi R8 LMS GT3, for the whole season driven by his son Marcin Jedlinski.

While in the Saturday Sprint race Richard Chlad Jr. repeatedly attacked Josef Záruba in front of him, on Sunday he set a tempo to which Záruba was unable to answer. Chlad in his Audi R8 LMS GT3 of the K&K Racing team was ending individual laps with about one second shorter times than Záruba, improving his advantages in the lead with every finished lap. Without any attacker he finished with another victory, thus bringing home from Brno the maximum possible score, confirming his second overall rank in the GT3 category championship after Marcin Jedlinski, who did not start in the race.

“This is the best thinkable way of closing the season. Next year we would like to move forward but we want to stay in ESET MMSR as well for there are rivals to fight with here and the competition is very strong,“ said Richard Chlad Jr.

Josef Záruba held the second rank, accompanied by Samuel Sládečka driving right behind him for the whole race. They were only tenths of a second apart but as the race approached its end Záruba seemed to keep his lead in the GTC category. However, in the last but one lap Sládečka managed to squeeze in front of Záruba and in a couple of minutes crossed the finish line under the chessboard flag as the GTC winner. The second rank then belonged to Josef Záruba and the third to Dennis Waszek.

Tomáš Erdélyi, starting with BMW Z4 GT3 of the Šenkýř Motorsport team, won the GT3 Trophy category and secured his champion title in this class in front of Lubomír Jakubík, not racing this time. Erdélyi left behind him Petr Kačírek in Audi R8 LMS GT3 and Gregor Zsigo in BMW Alpina B6.

The victory of Jakub Wyszomirski in the TCR category was a surprise. His lap time in the time practice was only 0.078 second shorter than the time of his team mate Milovan Vesnic and he managed to hold his lead even after start of the race. Wyszomirski kept the set tempo and without making a mistake finished with his first victory in this season.

“I feel excellently about my first victory of the season. I must thank the whole team for preparation of my car. I must say I did not hope for a victory but Honda is a wonderful car, prepared by JAS Motorsport, with an ambition to win,“ rejoiced Jakub Wyszomirski.

Wyszomirski and Milovan Vesnic in Seat Cupra were followed in the ranking by the domestic pilot Václav Nimč Jr. in Audi RS3 and the fourth and the fifth rank belonged to Carol Wittke and Csaba Tóthm respectively.
