ESET MMSR heads to Austria for its second round of the season

ESET MMSR championship heads to Red Bull Ring, Austria for its second round of the season. The upcoming weekend will offer a plenty of racing with touring cars, sports cars and single seaters. This favourite Austrian track hosts the ESET MMSR event from 18th to 20th May.

The ESET Sprint series will enjoy a full grid with a plenty of GT3 cars like Audi R8 LMS, BMW M6, BMW Z4, Lamborghini Gallardo or Porsche 911. Their biggest challenger will be the latest Lamborghini Huracán driven by Josef Záruba. This Czech talent has already shown his potential last time in Hungaroring and he is ready to fight for the overall win.

Also, a lot of TCR touring cars will race in the ESET Sprint series. Fans will see this popular specification represented by many different manufacturers like Renault, Audi, Seat, Alfa Romeo, Opel and Honda. The ESET Sprint series is also going to offer some prototypes D5 and cars up to 3500 ccm. Just about 30 racing cars have registered for the event in total.

Even more participants will race in the small sprint category which is made mostly of Cup cars like Renault Clio or Chevrolet Cruze.

Most of the ESET Sprint grid is set to take part in a traditional endurance race on Saturday evening. This one-hour long race will also enjoy some additional entries thanks to the Austrian racing series so there will be up to 40 cars on the grid.

Of course, single seaters will not miss the fun in Austria. Again, the Formula 3 and Formula 3 Trophy categories are going to enjoy an expanded grid thanks to entries from the Austrian championship.

Red Bull Ring is another track on ESET’s calendar that also hosts Formula 1 races. This track is 4,318 metres long and is known for long straights and only nine corners. The start/finish straight is 650 metres long, followed by a very sharp right-hand corner Castrol. Then it is on a curved straight heading towards another right-hand corner Remus. These are the best places for drivers to overtake and it does not matter if they driver GT3 cars, Cup cars or single seaters.
