Zsigo is close to winning the GT3 Sprint title

Gregor Zsigo is the current championship leader in the GT3 Sprint category as we slowly head to the final round of the season at Hungaroring. However, the Slovak driver is not going to have it easy.

This year’s season ends on a weekend October 24-25 at Hungaroring in Hungary. And there are still several categories where the championship has not been decided yet, including the GT3 Sprint category.

At the moment, Grego Zsigo is in the lead as the Trevor Racing team driver has managed to finish on the podium in all 6 races so far. The Slovak driver had the best race in the opening round of the season at Brno, where he crossed the finish line with his BMW M6 GT3 in the first place. Zsigo has 29 points.

But the Trevor Racing driver has some strong competition. Just 3.5 points behind him is Daniel Skalický. The Duck Racing driver managed to accumulate 25.5 points at Grobnik, Slovakia Ring and Brno.

And then there is also Skalický’s teammate Petr Kačírek, who is in 3rd position in the standings with 21.5 points. The Czech driver is also a big threat as he confirmed in Brno, where he won the 2nd race.

However, the mathematical chance also lies with Libor Milota and David Vršecký. While Milota was dominating in the opening round of the season, Vršecký won both races at Slovakia Ring. Both drivers have 12.5 points. And Bódis Kálmán in the 6th place with 6 points cannot be ruled out as well.
