Richard Chlad Swims for Victory at Grobnik

The time practice for ESET GT race was held on wet ground and the quickest lap time was achieved by Richard Chlad, who also held the lead after start of the race in front of Marcin Jedlinski and Libor Milota. The machines of GT3 specification escaped the rest of the starting field and the most attractive show was performed by Chlad and Jedlinski. The water spray behind the wheels of their cars was several meters high. Despite the newer specification of the R8 model Jedlinski was not quick enough to hold the rear bumper of the masterly driving Chlad who increased his leading advantage second tenth by second tenth.

When Jedlinski made a mistake in the rain, which was becoming heavier and heavier, the leading Chlad could take a breath of relief. Full satisfaction of Chlad and other pilots on the road was eventually sealed by the safety car, de facto a couple of minutes before the finish entering the flooded circuit and taking the pilots safely to the finish. The race was won by Richard Chlad followed by Libor Milota and Marcin Jedlinski.

Interesting duels could also be seen in the TC-3500 class. Passenger cars circled around the soaked Grobnik with the same vigour as the quicker sport cars of GT3 class. Although the quickest lap time in the time practice was reached by Gábor Kismarty-Lechner and his Seat Cupra, he was overtaken soon after start by Nemanja Milovanovic in Seat Leon who took the lead with a safe advantage over Zoran Kastratovic and Federicco Borrett, who duelled together for the second rank.
