Race weekend at Grobnik opened the Twingo Cup with more than thirty competitors. Nik Štefančič started from pole position, who after two victories in Austria, leads the standings. Mihajilo Mladenović started alongside him, Mihailo Milenković and Matej Ivanuša started from the second row.

After the start, surprisingly, the order of the first two places did not change and Štefančič defended the lead from Mladenović. But that changed immediately on the approach to the back straight, where cars even in four-wide braked into the corner. Fortunately, the leading drivers survived the tense first lap.

David Stušek took the lead ahead of Mladenović, but the order changed at almost every corner. After all, the first ten drivers crossed the fourth lap in one second, so the Twingo Cup race at Grobnik was really entertaining.

The safety car came onto the track in the middle of the race. Milenković was in the lead ahead of Rok Cerar and Mladenović.

The race was restarted eight minutes before the end and the closer the end was, the more aggressive manoeuvres the drivers began to perform. Nik Štefančič was pushed off the track, others received black and orange flags, which meant that the driver had to pit and have his car repaired.

In the approach to the last lap, nine drivers were within one second, and the key was for all drivers to make the right exit from the last corner and use slipstream. Marko Blaževski led the race until the last meters, but just before the finish line he fell to fourth place. A great slip stream was shown by Matej Ivanuša, who won with a lead of 0.096 seconds ahead of David Stušek and the third Nik Štefančič.
