Clio Cup Bohemia: Will Sandström secure the title at Slovakiaring?

The 2021 Clio Cup Bohemia season continues at Slovakiaring this season. Filip Sandström has a chance to become a champion one round to go. Erik Bertilsson, Juuso Panttila, Levente Losonczy and Balint Hatvani are only drivers who have a mathematical chance to defeat Sandström.

The 2021 Clio Cup Bohemia season has a penultimate round on the schedule this weekend at Slovakiaring. And we would know a name of a new champion after the weekend under certain circumstances.

It´s possible that Filip Sandström will secure the title already one round before the end. The Swedish driver won five from eight races so far and leads the championship standings by 51 points. Now, 108 points are still in the game. After the Slovakiaring round, 54 points will remain. The overall championship results will be affected by deleting of two worst results after the end of the season.

Except for Sandström, there are four more drivers who are still in the championship fight. The second Erik Bertilsson (51 points behind Sandström), third Juuso Panttila (100 points behind Sandström), fourth Levente Losonczy (107 points behind Sandström) and fifth Balint Hatvani (107 points behind Sandström) still have at least mathematical chance to win the title and we can expect that they will not make it easy for Sandström in remaining races.

Except for five mentioned drivers, we can´t underestimate Richard Meixner or Miha Primožič as well. Meixner, who races for Carpek Service as Sandström, Bertilsson and Panttila, was very close to his first podium during the season several times and he will continue in his endeavor at Slovakiaring. The Czech driver will return on the grid after his absence in Grobnik. He didn´t start there because he was recovering from the crash he had during hill climb race in Náměšť nad Oslavou. Miha Primožič already scored two podium results this season.

Uxa is back

We will see also one interesting comeback after a long time. The former star of our Clio Cup races Lukáš Uxa, who became the 2016 champion in TWC3 category, will return. The Czech driver will defend the colours of ART Of Racing team. Except for Uxa, the Italian driver Silvano Bolzoni will make his first start in the season at Slovakiaring.
