Paolo Brajnik wins a wet Formula race

A rain hit Red Bull Ring this afternoon and despite it left the circuit before the second race of single-seaters, the Formula cars still needed wet tyres. The race with 30 cars on the grid began behind the Safety Car.

Soon enough the race could finally start with Paolo Brajnik in pole position, followed by János Magyar, Andrea Cola and Antoine Bottiroli. But soon enough, the Safety Car had to return. First, there was a car off the track and then Sandro Zeller did not handle well a battle with Cola and spun.

The race was restarted again with just 10 minutes to go. Paolo Brajnik then managed to stay in the lead until the end, while Tom Beckhäuser showed his speed by making it from 6th place to 2nd position. He had at least one reason to be happy after retiring from Saturday‘s race.

Brajnik also took a victory in the E2-2000 category ahead of János Magyar, while Tom Beckhäuser won the F3 category ahead of Alessio Deleda and Sandro Zeller. Formula Renault category offered fans a beautiful battle between Nico Gruber and Bartolomiej Mirecki, but it was Gruber who was successful and won ahead of Mirecki and Robert Hefler. Stefan Fürtbauer then won Formula 4 category ahead of Marius Morosan.
