GT Sprints at Brno to offer good fun

Two GT Sprint races are also scheduled for the upcoming race weekend at Automotodrom Brno. And there are no doubts that it will be a lot of fun to watch.

The season continues with Round 3 at Automotodrom Brno this weekend. And once again, there will also be two GT Sprint races, one on Saturday, and the other one on Sunday.

In the top-tier GT3 category, it will be a huge battle for the championship lead between Gregor Zsigo (Trevor Racing, BMW M6 GT3) and Daniel Skalický (Duck Racing, Audi R8 LMS Ultra GT3). Both drivers are separated by only 6 points, with Zsigo being in the 1st place overall. There are no doubts that Skalický is going to do everything in his power to take the championship lead at the end of the weekend. But there will also be a third threat in another Duck Racing driver – an experienced Petr Kačírek.

The GT4 category is going to offer more battling between Ferenc Ficza (Trevor Racing, BMW M4 GT4) and Sergej Pavlovec (RTR Projects, KTM X-Bow GT4). Pavlovec had the better start of the season, taking the first win in the opening round of the season at Grobnik ahead of Ficza. Both drivers then finished in first two places in other races as well, but after the first race, it was always Ficza on the top step of the podium. That means that the Hungarian driver leads the championship by 7 points.

But there are going to be more favourites in the GT4 category. For example, Piotr Wira (Good Speed Racing Team, Mercedes GT GT4), the Polish driver has finished in 3rd place in all four races so far and he is 3rd in the standings as well, 16.5 points behind Ficza.

And we cannot forget about D5 prototypes as well. ARC Bratislava is going to race with Ligier JSP2 cars, driven by Miro and Maťo Konopka. They had a dominant race weekend at Slovakia Ring two weeks ago. While they won the Endurance race together, it was Miro who came out victorious in Sprint races.

The father and son are surely aiming for the same results at Brno, but they will face tough competition in Norma LMP3 cars of Autoklub JV Sport Racing with Petr Lisa and Jiří Svoboda. Both drivers are also going to enjoy a home race advantage.
