Four races, four different winners – that was this year’s GT3 Endurance series

This year’s GT3 Endurance championship had four different winners in four races. In the end, the championship title went to Daniel Skalický.

There was no dominant force in this year’s GT3 Endurance series. Each of four races had a different winner.

It all began in Grobnik, Croatia with the opening round of the season. There, Libor Milota and Sergej Pavlovec took a victory in the GT3 Endurance series for the GT2 Motorsport team with their Mercedes-AMG GT3 car. The same car also won at Slovakiaring, but this time in colours of Buggyra Zero Mileage Racing team with David Vršecký and Tomáš Enge. In Brno, Daniel Skalický from Duck Racing team crossed the finish line in 1st place, while Marcin Jedlinski from Olimp Racing team won at Hungaroring.

But in the end, it was Daniel Skalický who clinched the championship title. Apart from his single victory of the season, the Duck Racing team driver also finished on the podium in the three remaining races. He finished 2nd in Grobnik and 3rd at Slovakiaring and Hungaroring. In total, he had 36.5 points and managed to defeat his rival Gregor Zsigo, who beat him in GT3 Sprint standings by a single point.

Zsigo finished in 2nd place overall, together with Štefan Rosina. The Trevor Racing drivers took 24 points in total, despite not winning a single race. They took 2nd place at Slovakiaring and Brno.

Gregor Zsigo had to settle with the 2nd place in GT3 Endurance.

Bódis Kálmán then took 3rd place in the GT3 Endurance standings with 13.5 points. The Hungarian driver took a podium in the opening round of the season in Grobnik, where he finished in 3rd position.

Winners from Croatia, Milota and Pavlovec, ended the season in 4th place with 12.5 points, but the race at Grobnik was also their only race of the season. The same applies to the winning crew from Slovakiaring – David Vršecký and Tomáš Enge – and also the winner from Hungary – Marcin Jedlinski. Also, these other crews scored 12.5 points and while Vršecký and Enge were classified in 5th place, Jedlinski had to settle for only the 6th position in the standings.

It is also worth mentioning the 2017 European Truck Racing champion Adam Lacko and just a 16-year-old Aliyyah Koloc. Both raced for the Buggyra Zero Mileage Racing team in Hungary, where they finished in 2nd place. They took 9 points in total and finished 7th in the championship.
